Global Azure Bootcamp 2017 was organized on 22nd April at ACHS College, Putalisadak. This 5th version of Global Azure Bootcamp was organized in more than 240 + location worldwide including 10+ location from Nepal.
The main agenda for this Bootcamp is to share knowledge about Microsoft Azure and Cloud Computing. This event was well supported by Microsoft. Therefore, participants were given Azure Credit worth $100 (NPR. 10,000), so they could learn and explore on Azure Cloud Computing.

Opening of Azure Bootcamp – Dipesh Khadgi
Mr. Dipesh Khadgi – Microsoft Student Parnter, started the session with background about the Global Azure Bootcamp. The session followed through a welcome video by Allen Bailochan Tuladhar. Then the session continued with the Introduction to Microsoft Azure to young enthusiasts.
PowerBI and Virtual Machine – Milan Thapa
Mr. Milan Thapa (Aryan) – Software Engineer and Chief Technology Officer of SochWare, delivered the session of PowerBI.
With his in-hand experience of PowerBI in SochWare’s real time project “Mushroomation”. Mr. Aryan described how the data can be collected from IoT (Internet of Things) device and sent over to Azure IoT Hub at each pulse. This was modeled and tracked with stream job analytics.
Finally, he demonstrated on parsing some modeled query, with stream data-set on PowerBI and finally creating visualization. He also showed the analytics and method of surfacing those analytics on farmers smartphone and web.
Furthermore, he talked about application of IoT in SochWares real time project, and how they have been using the vast platform of Microsoft to create IoT devices. He reflected on importance of using the available resources to slove locally existing problems and to expand the business.
3. Microsoft Cognitive Services – Rocky Mishra
Mr. Rocky Mishra started the session of Microsoft Cognitive Services. He discuss about the cognitive services and how its API can help you build awesome apps like how-old.net. He demonstrated a Face Recognition App which could detect the emotion, age and gender of a person.
Azure Web App Deployment – Binod Jung Bogati
In this session, whole participants learned step by step how to deploy WordPress in Azure. Similarly, the participants also learned to how easy it would be to buy custom domain with Azure. At the end of the day, every participants went home with a WordPress site + Domain.
Machine Learning App Demo
Similarly, the Machine Learning demo was shown. Well, the demo was about the Digit Recognition App ( Node.js + Electron). On the top of Azure Machine learning different algorithm, training model, and Azure Web Services were deployed.
