It was a week ago that we had our two day MSP SpringBoard event then few days later on Aug 17th, Mr. Allen B. Tuladhar invited all MSPs to attend a Meeting with LJ from Microsoft APAC, Singapore and to our big surprise there were two others Microsoft Regional Directors.
Who were today’s Special Guest ?
Li Jung Chiu – Microsoft APAC, Singapore
Magnus Martensson – Microsoft Regional Director, Sweden
Prabhjot Bakshi – Microsoft Regional Director, India
Our session started with an introduction of Mrs. Junu Thapa & her role in MICNepal. She also discussed about the Microsoft Most Valuable Professionals (MVPs).
Meanwhile, A team of “Gwahali” ( means “Help” in Nepal Bhasa) – an organization working for visually impared people, demonstrated about their project plans and we came to know the project has been supported by MICNepal.
After that, Allen sir welcomed our first guest Li Jung Chiu (“LJ” in short). She began with her short introduction as APAC Senior Audience Marketing Lead at Microsoft.
She said with an excitement,
I used to be in your place at your age as a Microsoft Student Ambassador. That was the first batch of official MSP program.
It was like a great inspiration for us to hear that. She shared the experiences with Imagine Cup (a finalist for two times) and also the application she made which navigates the location of room based on your position.
She adds,”It was a time, where there’re no Google Maps or Bing Maps”.
Li Jung Chiu, who is Audience Evangelism Lead in Microsoft Asia Pacific had a 10 years of experience on Technical, Marketing and Operations roles and a title recipient for Microsoft Most Valuable Professionals(MVP). The session was really interesting to learn about her.
Then, Magnus sir introduced himself to us. He had been titled Microsoft Azure Most Valuable Professional in the Nordic countries and MVP for Azure Platform. He too is a Regional director for Microsoft and he has a consulting company Loftysoft.
He shared his experience on cloud business Global Azure Bootcamp that he has been organizing along with MVP’s from other countries and how he started along small locations and now this camp is being carried among 100+ countries.
We have been hearing from Allen sir. about “Small Act Big Impact” and every year the number is rising so it is one of the impact.
Eventually, Prabhjot sir gave his introduction as Regional Director and Microsoft Most Valuable Professionals (Azure) on Microsoft.
He told us how he has been working with Magnus sir and been acknowledging IT professionals, students about Azure in different Universities in India.
He is the founder director of Getwings Technologies Private Limited and the Vice President -Operations at BSP IT & Communication and Executive Director of E-Consultacyfzc, Dubai. We even got chance to introduce us to them which was an honorable moment.
The whole session was quite interesting as we got our opportunity to sit with Regional Directors from three countries and MVP’s.
It was an inspiring and educational session for us. Thank you Allen Sir, MIC Nepal and our three guests for this memorable evening.
Hoping to sit in next meet with you in near future.
